Welcome to my Head

Have you ever heard the song, "Let You Down"?

"I have no lid upon my head, but if I did....you could look inside and see what's on my mind"

My head is swirling, like usual. Do you ever feel like you have a never-ending, constant stream of ideas, projects, to-do's running through your daily thoughts? So much so that almost everything you do/see evokes a new set of ideas?

Take today for example.

Reading books to Lily {innocent enough, right?}....but some of the pictures in the books stir up more creative ideas. Ugh. I seriously can't help it! And my head feels like it could burst.....with overload. Sounds silly I know...I just can't think of any other way to describe it!

And, it drives me a little batty to have heaps of crafty papers and fabric, waiting for me......screaming "do me next!"

Like this poor pile of fabrics that was waiting to be made into my new Fall purse. It's the middle of November now and I still have not found time to work on it!

And, don't even get me started on this pile. I could dive into it, roll around in it, sleep in it, stare it all day long. Yes, ladies....I have officially become the midwest's biggest horder of "Summer in the City" fabrics. I have every single piece from the entire line and I am terrified to cut into it. I started a quilt 2 years ago with a charm pack and then I panicked. *I warn you not to enlarge this picture, for fear of uncontrollable drooling.

Now to the uber fun stuff! How about some giveaway piles for one lucky reader?

I am doing some holiday destashing...here's what's up for grabs.........ooodles and ooodles of crafty doodles! You get eveything, all of it....papers, embellies, yards and yards of ribbons and trim, vintage buttons, a cardinal....and more!I will also include 3 sheets of cardstock I recently designed....perfect for holiday crafts and one of a kind!I used this paper to make some cute birdies....I heart them, big time!

What do you have to do to win the loot?

Not much.....just have a look at this yummy pile of freshly laundered vintage patchwork and tell me.........

What is it waiting to made into?

A winner will be picked on Tuesday

Happy weekend!

Wow! I'm so obsessed with your blog that I'm the first commenter! Crazy! Well, I think that lovely pile could be made into a super duper soft and cozy blanket. It looks perfect for cuddling up! I hope I don't have to sew it though! I'll leave that to you, the expert!

Well besides the obvious quilt idea I would turn it into a purse/large tote bag. Maybe a table cloth or wall hanging? Or something stuffed, pillows, stuffed animals of some kind.

I've been dying to win holiday stuff and I could use this prize for like 5 different projects on my list right now.

perhaps that will be a tree skirt for the holiday this year? or a table cloth? I think everything is gonig to be a quilt, but maybe not everyone is like me! your summer in the city is amazing...i have some charm packs i can't bring myself to cut into, i feel your 'pain'!

Beca said...

Make a patchwork apron and matching oven mitt....that would be so cute!! I'd love to win this loot!! I feel your pain too...the creative process can be overwhelming sometimes! :)...in a good way! happy weekend!

I think it would make a perfect oversized tote bag. Great for the summer for a day at the beach or for the fall to carry work stuff or kids stuff in. Perfect for so many occassions.

No way, I would definitely want that as a skirt! With a solid top and some funky jewelery, it would be a beautiful and unique outfit!!

I'm really thinking some cute pillows for my daughter's room. I'm also thinking a blanket for my sofa.

That is a great vintage find! I LOVE the vintage patchwork wreaths that jcasa on etsy.com makes. I have one of hers and treasure it. I think she sells the directions on her site. Your quilt would be perfect for one!

Donna said...

I would make some chair cushions and a table runner for a cozy country kitchen - would be perfect year round!! You'd have enough to make a really full-skirted dress for your daughter. When mine was little, she only wore dresses and she judged them by their 'spin-ability.' She would actually spin in the dressing room in the store before she decided. It was hilarious. Have a wonderful weekend !!

Your not the only one whos thinking of ideas all the time. I woke myself up last night thinking of ideas for Christmas gifts. As Susan Powter would say "Stop the insanity", ha ha! You could turn that fabric into a cte tote bag to hold knitting items or books for the library. Oh yeah my mom is teaching me to knit, just something else I get to go nuts over! Have a great weekend chicky!

What is not to love about this giveaway?!?!? I would use that yumminess to make some pillow cases for my daughter's "quiet place" and save enough to make matching mom/daughter aprons for us. You have the cutest blog...love, love, love it!

If the fabric was fine, I would use it to make:

-Mommy & Child aprons...with all the cooking coming up...it would make for great memories
-I just bought a vintage high back chair that needs a little kick. I would use the fabric to recover it.
-I would also make a Mommy Tote
-Cute pocket bags for my friends as Christmas gifts to hold lip glosses and lotions
-I would make a craft board for my shop to display artwork from my son

I totally agree with you on the projects...I was cleaning out my son's room and had to stop and run to my shop and get started on projects. My husband laughs because I walk around with paper and jot down ideas that run in my head when we are cleaning...crazy I know.
